Planning to sell your home without a realtor?
According to Homelight, house listings with high quality photos sell 32% faster than houses with average or low-quality photos — that goes for FSBO listings and agent listings.
So if you’re an FSBO (for sale by owner) seller, it’s worth taking a little extra time to learn how to take great photos of your property.
Here are some tips!
Use Your Smartphone — Chances are that you probably own a smartphone. And most smartphone cameras today are excellent… so don’t worry about purchasing an extra camera!
Use Natural Light — Natural light is the king of home photography. To make your home look as bright and sharp as possible, open all the windows and take your pictures on a sunny day. Bonus points if you can do it during the “golden hour” in the morning or evening.
Shoot From a Corner or Doorway — Most people love homes that look spacious. The easiest way to show space in photos is to shoot from a doorway or from the corner of a room.
Take a Lot of Pictures — Before potential buyers visit your home, they will want to browse through pictures online. And they’ll want to browse through a LOT of pictures to get a feel for the house. So don’t be shy! Take a lot of photos and post them to your listing.
Hope that helps!
